Rainer Ciar is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, and freelance illustrator and graphic designer living and working on Dharug Country (Western Sydney). Working with ideas of transdualism and fatalism, they’re interested in interrogating ideas from multiple, seemingly opposing angles to explore how they feed into one another and coalesce. Fascinated in internet and pop culture, gaming, and their own experiences of gender and youth, Rainer explores and plays with the tension between escapism, imagination, and felt sorrows and pains.
Rainer holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) at UNSW, and is a co-director at Pari, Parramatta. Their work has been exhibited at Pari, Kudos UNSW, and the Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre, and they have worked with ACE Parramatta.
